Currently on display at the library are large ink and mixed-media landscapes by local artist Chantie Rony.
From her artist's statement:
Extreme beauty is usually silent. Through the medium of painting, I try to convey the silent melody running through local landscapes from our everyday lives and reveal a duality -- the melancholy and the impermanence that lie behind the glamour and tranquility of the natural world. I employ atmospheric color, dynamic markings and liberating materials to create pictorial landscapes and painterly abstractions that bridge the divide between the realistic and the abstract form.
An opening reception was held on Friday, October 21. Chantie Rony's works will be on display at the library until November 8th.
